Shopping in Exeter

Exeter is a favorite shopping destination in the southwest region of the United Kingdom. The following shopping venues provide a memorable shopping experience for locals and travelers alike.

Princesshay Quarter

The Princesshay Quarter is relatively new, having opened in the summer of 2007. The shopping destination offers over 50 stores, including several small and quirky boutiques like AH Moda. These independent stores are generally located along Roman Walk. Shoppers can also visit larger chain stores, such as Next, Topshop, Debenhams, and the only Apple Store in the southwest region of the United Kingdom.

Guildhall Shopping Centre

The most notable feature of the Guildhall Shopping Centre is its historic architecture. In fact, the centre is the only shopping venue on Earth that includes a 12th Century church. The historic building is filled with modern stores, such as Brufords, CeX, Stead and Simpson, Hawkin's Bazaar and The Body Shop.

Exeter Farmer's Market

This is the place to find the freshest produce in all of Exeter! Vendors at the Exeter Farmer's Market also sell a variety of excellent cheeses, pickles and chutneys, Gloucester old spot pork, honey, fresh eggs and local ales and ciders.

Gandy Street

If you prefer quirkier stores and merchandise than what is offered at Princesshay Quarter or the Guildhall Shopping Centre, you will certainly enjoy Gandy Street. Those who choose to explore this area can shop at several clothing stores, visit the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, or spend the night out at the Cavern Club or the Vaults.

Harlequins Shopping Centre

The central location of the Harlequins Shopping Centre makes it a convenient place to visit. Popular stores here include Missy Pink, Chandni Chowk, Jonathan Hawkes, Sofa Style and Triton Galleries, and The Cook Shop.

Cathedral Quarter

The scenic Cathedral Quarter is located by the Cathedral Church of St Peter, which provides a lovely backdrop for a number of independent boutiques and restaurants, including the Edinburgh Wool Shop, Lugets, Du Barry, Polka-dot Precious and Orvis.
